2013 Met Gala DON'TS

What a fashion disappointment at this year's Met Gala. So many got it so wrong- case and point-Madonna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Linda Evangelista...

It was like a fashion abattoire with everyone a lamb to the slaughter. Age-appropriate uniforms flew out the window (Madonna I'm not sure what you were trying to prove), there was far too much skin on display (Anne Hathaway I'm talking to you!), bad make up (Ginnifer Goodwin), bad hair (Miley Cyrus) and just general all-around awefulness prevailed. And I know the theme was 'punk' but really...

Cut-outs and all-over-prints were definitely the order of the day, with lots of peek-a-boob (the most cringe-worthy being Anne Hathaway and Rosie Huntington-Whitley) and curvalicious numbers leaving no room on the red carpet for the gents (Kim K-you are pregnant for crying out loud!). And Elle Fanning I'm not sure what trip you were on but its time to come back to earth and leave the tie die in the back of the cupboard...

A couple of surprises-

Heidi Klum has finally remembered how to dress for success, following her hideous phase of 'look Seal I'm fine and half naked without you' dresses, she finally whipped out a sleek little number from Marchesa. Well done Heidi!

Alexa Chung really didn't shine at all. Very strange.

Gwen Stefani had an ill-fitted moment. All the elements were there-
Red lip? Check. Monochrome? Check. Cut away? Check. Structured fabric? Check. All over winner? Definitely not.

It was all very disappointing, sigh. Lets put it down to a Spring moment of madness and move on. But before we do I've pulled together a few of my favourites...
