HNY! HAPPY...You guessed it...

Yes I know its now the 9th and yes I know I have been slacking so badly on the blog front and what's not to say I won't slack some more in 2014 (in fact its almost a given that I will) but in the spirit of the new year lets pretend that I won't and enjoy this post on new beginnings and change...

I'm taking the lovely Garance Dore's stance and clinking my glass to an 'open-ended, unresolved year' in 2014. I haven't made any new year's resolutions, any diet promises (although healthy is a word that gets thrown around a lot) and I'm enjoying my life so far without committing myself to a list on my iphone.

I'll admit that I do feel a little FOMO (like I'm missing something as everyone around me talks about their dry Januarys, new diets, to do lists, etc.) but to compensate this I have already done a couple of things that are usually in my naggy to do list and I never get around to doing (because you know, box sets of Suburgatory are way more important!)...

1.) Almost a full week of getting up at 6:30 everyday to do exercise including a new class of boxing (point to note: punching a trainer in the hands is exceptionally therapeutic even if they say, 'Hit harder, I can't feel anything.')

2.) Experiencing more culture-I've just been to see French film Jeune et Jolie (epic movie, go see it!) and been to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 exhibit (point to note: we live on a beautiful planet, get out more!)

3.) Learn something new-I have just booked myself into 15 weeks of French classes at The Institut Francais in South Kensington. I did French at University and even went to study in Lyon. I am a serious Francophile and feel that before I purchase my french chateaux in Provence I must speak more like a local. Plus its hellofa romantic watching people fight in French, something I plan to do post lessons.

4.) Put out enquiries about a trip to Sri Lanka-enough with the Eurotrash beach holidays!

Blogs are also helping me get inspired for the new year, so here are a couple of posts that might make you sit up, take a deep breath in and welcome change into your life. I think this year is going to be very different to 2013 in that its arrival was a little more quiet, a little less exuberant, but nonetheless important so take time to reflect on your past year and what you would like to look forward to this year...

Need fitness inspiration? Check out Alexandra Bring Fit's body here and follow her blog. Fab-tastic fitness gear and the tightest thighs you've ever seen. If this doesn't get you amped for a cross trainer class nothing will...

Garance is one of my biggest lifestyle inspirations in the blogosphere. Here she talks about her new attitude in 2014 and here Alex talks about a fresh start-you know you want it.

One of my ultimate weekend indulgances is reading this in the bath. I am in my happy place...

Stuck in the cold weather rut, check out Stylist's Weekend Break inspiration...

Okay must dash off and do something interesting...Peace and Love in 2014!
